C.W. LOSCH

Mr.
C.W. Losch 78, of Quincy, died at 10:02 a.m. Saturday (October 20,
2012) in Blessing Hospital.
C.W. was born on January 27, 1934
in Summer Hill, IL, the son of Fred and Marjorie (Garner) Losch. He
married Marilyn Klinefelter on February 10, 1957 in Pittsfield, IL.
He graduated from Pittsfield High School as valedictorian of
the Class of 1951. He attended the University of Illinois, where he
was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, graduating in 1956. In
1974 he graduated from the Graduate School of Banking at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison.
C.W. was a veteran of the
United States Army serving on active duty from 1956 - 1958 and as a
reservist from1959 - 1962. He worked for Gardner-Denver in Quincy, IL
from 1959 - 1968. In the fall of 1968 he went to work for Citizens
State Bank in Pleasant Hill. His banking career spanned the better
part of the next four decades until his retirement from the Bank of
Kampsville in 2004. At the time of his death he was on the board of
directors of the Bank of Kampsville, but was no longer involved in
the daily operations.
C.W. was a loving and devoted husband,
father and grandfather. He took great joy in family gatherings and
was an ardent follower of his grandkids activities. He was also a
dedicated friend to many and loved to pull practical jokes.
C.W.
was well known in the community for his dedication to walking. Until
the time of his illness he had walked four miles a day without fail
for the last 15 years. In addition to walking, his hobbies included
mushroom hunting, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and following the
Cardinals, Rams, Blues and Illini. He had a competitive nature and as
a younger man excelled in many different sports including basketball,
baseball, fast-pitch softball, bowling, golf, ping pong and pitching
horseshoes.
C.W. was a charter member of the John Wood
Community College board of directors and served in this capacity for
eight years. He also served as a volunteer at Blessing Hospital and
was a member of the board of directors of the Adams County Red Cross,
for which he also did volunteer work. While employed at
Gardner-Denver he was involved as a volunteer in the Junior
Achievement program. His memberships included Elks Club No. 100,
Pleasant Hill Lions Club, Pleasant Hill Christian Church, Pittsfield
Masonic Lodge No. 790, Quincy Consistory, Quincy High Twelve,
Shriners Club and The Golden Legion of Phi Delta Theta.
Survivors
include his wife, Marilyn; a son, Brad Losch (Judy) of Pittsfield,
IL; a daughter, Brooke Gulledge (Chuck) of Edwardsville, IL; seven
grandchildren, Adam Losch (Misty) of Festus, MO, Kasey Losch of
Dusseldorf, Germany, Kirstie Losch of Muncie, IN, Karly Losch of
Jacksonville, IL, Brock, Chase and Beau Gulledge all of Edwardsville,
IL; two great grandchildren, Landen and Levi Losch of Festus, MO; and
three nephews, Vance Dell (Leslie) of Fort Worth, TX, Kent Dell
(Shar) of Waukesha, WI and Eric Dell (Kathy) of Jefferson, GA.

was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Margie Bell King.
A Memorial service will be held Saturday October 27, 2012 at
10:30 a.m. in the Zehender Robinson Stormer Cookson Funeral Home with
Pastor Cedric Richardson officiating.
Visitation will be held
Friday evening from 4:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home.
Memorials
may be made to the Pittsfield West Cemetery or the Quincy Humane
Society.
